The majority of the medical massage patient's pain complaints are from the neck and back region. In this class, we focus intensively and exclusively on the neck. In this class, you will learn the neuromuscular and myofascial techniques that the instructors use in their pain clinics to achieve an incredible 90% recovery rate. You will learn how to effectively assess and treat:

  • Whiplash
  • Torticollis
  • Cervical Strain
  • ROM Limitations
  • and much, much more!

 

In this class, students will:

  • Review the chemical and mechanical processes of the pain mechanism of soft tissue injury;
  • Be able to identify the systemic effects of injury;
  • Recognize an erythemic response;
  • Learn and practice techniques to reverse soft tissue injury;
  • Recognize healing crisis vs pathologies;
  • Understand the duration and frequency of treatments for medical massage;
  • Explain post treatment care and follow up care;
  • Learn indications and contraindications for using medical massage protocols to treat conditions of the cervical spine and know when and when not to utilize learned techniques;
  • Learn, practice and experience location of bony landmarks and muscles;
  • Learn, practice and experience multiple treatment protocols relating to the neck.

 

This class is one of six classes that is required to earn your Certificate of Completion from our Medical Massage Practitioner Program. This class is part of our Professional Level Series. Discounted pricing is available when enrolling in the Insurance/Day of the Back Series.

This class typically takes place on a Saturday from 12:30pm - 8:30 pm.

This class is also offered at Las Vegas Success School, on various Seminars at Sea and on our Costa Rica Education Vacations. Days and times may vary based upon the event.

This class offers 8 live, contact hour credits  for massage therapy continuing education.

HOW TO ENROLL

You may enroll in courses online by selecting the date and location of the class(es) you wish to take and click on the "Enroll Now" button below to place item(s) in your shopping cart. All online payments are processed through a secured server. If you wish to enroll over the phone or if you have any additional questions, please contact us at #800-201-2247.

 

YOU ARE PROTECTED!

If you enroll in a class and for some reason you are unable to make it, don't worry, you are covered. If you cancel more than 30 days prior to the start of the class, you can get a refund of your tuition. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to the scheduled class, you will still receive a credit to take the same class at a later time. You can also take a different class at a different location. Please see our cancellation policy for more details. 

 

DIGITAL FORMAT

All course materials will be provided in a digital format. About a week prior to your class, you will receive an email with credentials to log in to your student portal. You will be able to check in to your course online, view, download, or print your manual prior to the time of class, submit your course evaluation and download your Certificate of Completion, right from your portal page! Even after your class is over you will still have access to your course materials. Please have an internet-enabled device with you at the time of class. It's a super and convenient process.

CLASS SIZES

All of our classes have minimum and maximum enrollments that can be accepted. If a class is getting close to being full, we may close online enrollment. If a class is closed online, you may still call us at #800-201-2247 to see if there are any additional spaces or to go on a waiting list. If you want to go, let us know!  On rare occasions, we do not meet the minimum number of enrollees or an unexpected situation occurs and we need to cancel or reschedule a class. Please confirm that your class will be going forward prior to making any non-refundable travel arrangements. 

STAYING OVERNIGHT?

Aside from special events such as Success School and Education Vacations, we do not typically arrange sleeping rooms at our host hotels for weekend classes. If a room rate is not specifically noted in the class description below, please check your favorite discount travel website (hotels.com, trivago.com, expedia.com, tripadvisor.com, etc.) to see if better rates are available at the host hotel. Oftentimes the rates on travel websites are lower than what we are able to negotiate and our room block rates, if available, are subject to expiration. If a class location is not already listed, it will be added to this page as soon as it has been finalized. Enrolled students will receive an email reminder one week prior to the class with the location.
