Do you already have training through LMT Success Group in manual lymphatic drainage and find that you are ready to take your practice to the next level?

Are you ready to increase your skills and confidence to a point where you seek and receive referals from physicians to treat their patients?

Do you want to hone your competency in lymphatic drainage techniques?

Advanced Lymphatic Drainage is for you!

Course Description

The Advanced Level Course is designed for the massage therapist who wants to practice a full body lymphatic drainage routine, learn how to mix lymphatic drainage with general massage and how to work with post-surgical clients with and without node removal, and with clients with lymphedema.

A foundational level of lymphatic drainage training is a prerequisite to taking this course. The practitioner MUST have knowledge of the lymphatic drainage system and hands-on practice using this technique prior to taking this class. Practitioners are required to complete our Lymphatic Drainage Course prior to taking this course so they will be well prepared for this instruction. Upon completion of this program, the practitioner will earn a Certificate of Completion of Advanced Lymphatic Drainage.

This course is a continuation of the Lymphatic Drainage course and will include a technique review and will teach techniques more specifically designed to treat post-surgical clients.

  • You will learn how to mix lymphatic drainage techniques with general massage for pain relief.

  • You will learn how to perform post-surgical lymphatic drainage for facelifts, liposuction, upper and lower extremities inflammation without node removal, upper and lower extremities with node removal, including post-mastectomy.

  • Observe elastic taping techniques for Lymphedema and generalized edema and stable scar technique.

Lymphatic drainage is a lucrative field and is in high demand as a preventative health care measure and presents a great opportunity for working with doctors in a variety of pre-and post-surgical procedures.

As a licensed massage therapist, it is within your scope of practice to provide manual lymphatic drainage. No further credentials are necessary to provide this service. If in doubt, please check with your state’s Board of Massage. This class (Fundamentals) provides instruction on how to provide a full body lymphatic drainage treatment to a well individual. The Advanced Lymphatic class follows up on the protocol taught in the Fundamentals class and includes instruction on working with clients who are pre- and post-surgery or receiving medical care. These courses include manual techniques included in the scope and practice of massage therapists. Techniques such as measuring, wrapping and wound care are not typically included under the SOP of an LMT and are not included in this class.

Some states may have different requirements or definitions of what is considered to be within the "Scope of Practice" for a massage therapist.
