Description
Traditional Thai Massage: Fundamentals Course
Traditional Thai Massage is a dynamic, full-body therapy that combines elements of yoga, acupressure, and meditation. Rooted in a 2,500-year-old healing tradition, it offers a unique and powerful approach to wellness. Unlike Swedish-style massage, Traditional Thai techniques are performed on a Thai mat (or an exercise mat) on the floor, allowing for deeper stretches and a more interactive experience.
Our Fundamentals of Thai Massage course is a condensed version of our Traditional Thai Massage Program and will serve as an introduction to this ancient healing art. Designed for those seeking a quick and cost-effective way to learn the basics, this 12-hour program provides a solid foundation in Thai Massage techniques. While it doesn’t cover the full depth of our comprehensive program, it equips you with the essential skills to provide a relaxing and rejuvenating experience for your clients.
You will learn:
- A core 50-60 minute Thai Massage routine that you can immediately add to your practice. (While this is not a Thai on the Table class, sections of the routine that you learn can easily be adapted to include into a table routine.)
- Fundamental Thai massage techniques, including compressions, stretches, and an introduction to energy line work.
- How to use your body weight and alignment effectively.
- The basic principles of Thai Massage and its benefits.
Benefits of taking this course include:
- Expanding your massage therapy skill set.
- Adding a clothing-on option to your service menu.
- Attracting a wider range of clients.
- Learning a valuable self-care technique.
- Gaining a foundation for further study in Thai Massage.
Note: While much of what is taught in this class can be practiced on a massage table, this course requires floor work. Please bring appropriate clothing and props for comfort.
By completing this course, you will be able to offer a distinctive and in-demand service to your clients, setting you apart in the competitive wellness market.
