FAQS ABOUT TEXAS MASSAGE THERAPY LICENSE RENEWAL
When is the renewal deadline? Texas massage therapy licenses expire every two years on the issue date.
What are the Continuing Education (CE) requirements?
- Massage Therapists must complete at least 12 hours of approved continuing education to renew a license.
- Human Trafficking Prevention Training is also required to renew your license.
Who can offer CEs in Texas? All licensed massage therapy schools and providers and courses recognized by NCBTMB are accpted for continuing education. Courses must be Acceptable Course Curriculum.
Reporting Completed Hours: TDLR uses a random audit system for continuing education reporting. A sample of LMTs will be selected each year for an audit each year. If you are selected, you will need to provide proof of completion of course hours. Each theapist is responsible for maintaining a record of their CEs.
