Join us at Pura Vida Retreat and Spa in Alajuela, Costa Rica from May 1-8, 2027 for an immersive massage therapy retreat designed to enhance your skills and knowledge. Course Offerings

Study with some of our top instructors as you enhance your massage therapy expertise with our comprehensive curriculum. Choose from a variety of programs tailored to your professional goals:

Medical Massage Practitioner Program: Master the art and science of medical massage. This is one of our most popular course offerings and includes the following clases: Day of the Back, Lower Extremity, Day of the Neck and Upper Extremity. Plus, as a bonus, you will receive the online Insurance Billing Home Study course. This in-depth program teaches you how to build a medical massage practice and enhance your existing skills to take clients out of pain.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage Series: This important series includes both Fundamentals of Lymphatic Drainage and Advanced Lymphatic Drainage. You will gain a deep understanding of the lymphatic drainage system and master techniques to treat the entire body. You will be able to incorporate this skill into your regular massage routine as well as treat pre- and post-surgical clients.
Myofascial Release Workshop: This two-part series will equip massage therapists with advanced training to effectively address fascial restrictions and alleviate chronic pain. Learn to adapt treatments for various client conditions.

Costa Rica Experience

The Pura Vida Retreat and Spa is a paradise, tucked away on the top of a mountain in Alajuela, Costa Rica. This is a wonderful retreat with fantastic energy. You will be able to select between several guest room accommodations to stay in. (See detailed accommodation descriptions below.)

Our classes take place at Pura Vida Retreat. Massage tables and sheets are provided. You don’t have to worry about bringing your own. The scenic views are unforgettable. You may get lost in the splendor of Costa Rica on your way to class.

Beyond the classroom, you may wish to partake in exceptional spa treatments at the Wellness Centre. You can also wander around and hide away on the property at one of the many relaxation areas. Unwind with daily yoga, or simply relax by the pool or jacuzzi. You deserve this vacation!

We highly recommend taking advantage of some of the Eco-Adventure opportunities offered at Pura Vida. You can immerse yourself in the wonders of Costa Rica. Explore lush rainforests, cascading waterfalls, and volcanic landscapes. Enjoy thrilling adventures like zip-lining, white-water rafting, and hiking.

Delicious meals and soft drinks: You will enjoy three buffet-style meals a day at the dining hall. Meals include vegetarian, chicken, and fish-based dishes. Special Diets can be accommodated with advanced notice. Complimentary coffee, tea, and alkaline water are provided throughout the day.
Convenient transportation: You will be shuttled to and from San Jose International Airport (Airport Code: SJO) at the start and end of this event.
Amenities: As a guest at Pura Vida, you will have access to the pool and jacuzzi; morning yoga classes; and relaxation areas showcasing lush gardens.
Not included in the package: You are also welcome to schedule exceptional spa services and take part in some amazing Eco-Adventures. In the dining hall, wine, beer, specialty juices, and elixirs are available for an additional charge. There is also a gift shop on the property. Vista These deluxe style rooms feature private balconies with gorgeous views. You can secure your accommodation level, however, we cannot guarantee which specific room you will be assigned at that level. All room placements are based upon availability, on a first-come, first-served basis. We will do our best to accommodate your requests.

How Many CE Classes Can I Earn on this Education Vacation?

CE Approval:

All courses are approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB):

The Medical Massage Program is a series of four 8-hour classes that offer a total of 32 hours, plus an optional Insurance Billing Online Home Study Program for an additional 5 general hours.
The Fundamentals of Lymphatic Drainage offers 16 hours; Advanced Lymphatic Drainage offers 16 hours; for a series of 32 hours.
Myofascial Release – Upper Extremity offers 16 hours; Myofascial Release – Lower Extremity offers 16 hours; for a series total of 32 hours.
We report to Florida and *Georgia CE Broker (for classes that are approved for GA.)

If you are licensed in more than one state, hours may be used toward multiple states.

While most states accept NCBTMB-approved courses, individual state licensing boards have the final say as to which courses are in the scope of practice for massage therapists and approved in their state. Therapists are responsible for verifying their state’s specific CE requirements.

*Georgia Massage Therapists should check with their state board before enrolling in Craniosacral Therapy or Thai Massage.

These courses are not currently approved for CE credit in Louisiana or Mississippi.

Who Should Take These Classes?

Who should take this class?

Classes are specifically intended for licensed massage therapists. Only students enrolled in the class may attend.

Massage therapy students nearing program completion are eligible to attend. (Note: CE hours may not transfer to future renewals in most states)

Healthcare professionals licensed for touch therapies (e.g., nurses, physical therapists, chiropractors) may take this course for educational purposes only. You may check with your state board to confirm if it falls within your scope of practice and qualifies for CE credit.

This course provides continuing education (CE) hours for massage therapists and a Certificate of Completion. This certificate does not replace a massage license.

Each state has its own CE requirements and definitions of “scope of practice” for massage therapists. Verify with your state board to ensure the course qualifies for your renewal needs.

Cancellation and Transfer (You are Protected)

Cancellation and Transfer Policy

A minimum deposit of $500 per student and/or guest is required to hold your spot.

Cancellations more than sixty days before the start date of the event will receive a full refund, minus the $500 deposit, which will be credited towards a future US-based class or Costa Rica event.

Cancellations less than sixty days before the start date of the event will receive a credit applicable to a future LMT Success Group event at Pura Vida Retreat and Spa.

If full payment is not received 60 days before the start date of the event all funds held, including the deposit, will be held as a credit to be used at a future LMT Success Group event held at Pura Vida Retreat and Spa. Course and room preferences for the current event may be forfeited.

All refund requests must be made via email to LMT Success Group’s Student Services Department.

Digital Format

Digital Course Delivery:

This class is a live, in-person class. Course materials that support this class will be provided in a digital format. Class materials will be accessible online through our convenient student portal. You’ll receive login instructions via email about a week to ten days before your class start date. Please ensure the email address that you enroll in class with is correct and unique to you.

Bring Your Device: We recommend having a device like a smartphone, tablet, or computer with internet access during class for optimal participation. If you don’t have one, it is not a problem. Please inform your instructor to confirm your attendance.

Need Help? Our student portal is user-friendly, but if you encounter issues, please contact the LMT Success Group before class or arrive early and ask your instructor for assistance before the start of class. A limited number of printed manuals will be available for purchase from your instructor.
