Lymphatic Drainage Fundamentals

Lymphatic Drainage Fundamentals

Are you frustrated by the high price ($1,000 +) for lymphatic drainage training? The LMT Success Group has put together a succinct and affordable continuing education program that will give you the knowledge and ability to immediately incorporate manual lymphatic drainage into your massage practice. This class is geared specifically to the massage professional and deals strictly with manual lymphatic drainage.  You will leave the class with very powerful skills in the field of manual lymphatic drainage. Even deep tissue work can be made more effective and easier on the massage therapist. This course does not include wrapping or wound care. Lymphatic drainage is a lucrative field and is in high demand as a preventative health care measure and presents a great opportunity for working with doctors in a variety of pre-and post-surgical procedures.

Lymphatic Drainage Course Description

This course is designed for the massage therapist who wants to work with general detoxification, stimulating the immune system and general inflammation.

  • The instructor will provide you with a thorough yet easy-to-understand overview of the lymphatic system.

  • You will observe, learn and practice specific lymphatic drainage procedures for the face and neck, upper and lower body supine, both prone and supine.

  • You will have an opportunity to practice this treatment hands-on and trade with a partner so you will be able to receive this service as well.

After completion of this course, you may enroll in the Lymphatic Drainage - Advanced Level course where you learn to apply these basic techniques to decongest fascia and work on post-op clients, including post-op Liposuction, Lymphedema and more.

As a licensed massage therapist, it is within your scope of practice to provide manual lymphatic drainage. No further credentials are necessary to provide this service. If in doubt, please check with your state’s Board of Massage. This class (Fundamentals) provides instruction on how to provide a full body lymphatic drainage treatment to a well individual. The Advanced Lymphatic class follows up on the protocol taught in the Fundamentals class and includes instruction on working with clients who are pre- and post-surgery or receiving medical care. These courses include manual techniques included in the scope and practice of massage therapists. Techniques such as measuring, wrapping and wound care are not typically included under the SOP of an LMT and are not included in this class

All students must be licensed, certified, authorized, or otherwise credentialed to provide hands-on, manual therapy services in the state where they practice. All of our classes are approved by NCBTMB for CE hours. Most states accept NCBTMB hours. Some states may have different requirements or definitions of what is considered to be within the "Scope of Practice" for a massage therapist. If in doubt, please check with your state's Board of Massage. In some instances, advanced-level courses may have additional prerequisites that will be noted in the course description.

CLASS SIZES

All of our classes have minimum and maximum enrollments that can be accepted. If a class is getting close to being full, we may close online enrollment. If you want to go, let us know!  On rare occasions, we do not meet the minimum number of enrollees or an unexpected situation occurs and we need to cancel or reschedule a class. Please confirm that your class will be going forward prior to making any non-refundable travel arrangements.

STAYING OVERNIGHT?

Aside from special events such as Success School and Education Vacations, we do not typically arrange sleeping rooms at our host hotels for weekend classes. If a room rate is not specifically noted in the class description below, please check your favorite discount travel website (hotels.com, trivago.com, expedia.com, tripadvisor.com, etc.) to see if better rates are available at the host hotel. Oftentimes the rates on travel websites are lower than what we are able to negotiate and our room block rates, if available, are subject to expiration. If a class location is not already listed, it will be added to this page as soon as it has been finalized. Enrolled students will receive an email reminder one week prior to the class with the location.
